I was born and raised in Southern California. I first experienced working with clay my last semester at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I fell in love with it and have been working with it ever since, first in New Jersey, now in Atlanta. I am the mother of two grown children and have three adorable grandchildren. I moved to Atlanta in 1981.
The feel of clay in my hand, the wheel going round and round, and the ability and satisfaction of creating a beautiful and useful piece of pottery is a great joy to me. It is such a pleasure to make something functional that people can enjoy and use. I have never settled on a specific style--depending on my mood I make different pieces. It is usually when I am throwing the clay that I am thinking of what it is going to look like in the end.
To experiment, to try new things, to create something useful--what a great experience and privilege. Pottery is my therapy and my passion.
I do arts and crafts shows around the Atlanta area. My work can be found at the Upper Westside Connection Gallery, 2060 Defoor Hills, Road NW, Atlanta, Ga. 30318. Telephone 404-254-0626.
